Schools Access No Child Left Behind Funds

BJE, with generous support from the Jewish Federation, secured over $1.8 million in federal funding (No Child Left Behind) earmarked for professional development and to assist students falling behind academically. Educators from BJE LAUSD Consortium day schools access hundreds of thousands of dollars of funds every year for high quality professional development ranging from Hebrew Language Proficiency, to Reader and Writers Workshops to Classroom Management.

Join Us to Congratulate a BJE Builder and March of the Living Trailblazer 

Congratulations to our very own Maya Aharon for being highlighted in The Jewish Journal's 30 Under 30 list of remarkable young people changing the Los Angeles Jewish Community.  Maya is being recognized for her work as a Holocaust educator as director of the BJE March of the Living, which annually brings over 200 Los Angeles teens to Poland and Israel alongside a group of Holocaust survivors. Please take a moment to share and like on our Facebook page.

BJE Religious School Directors Network

The Religious School Directors Network, an established and treasured collaborative group, meets eight times per year drawing religious school directors and administrators from Thousand Oaks, to Pasadena, to San Pedro.  The Network focuses on religious school innovation, best practices implementation, and works collaboratively on the common components that we share including recruitment and retention, and improving the quality of education in our institutions.  more
